When the Fountain City Classic rolls around next fall, you may see a familiar face in the rivalry game that pits Fort Valley State against Albany State.
Head football coach and Central athletic director Jessie Hicks told the crowd that an athlete earning a college education is a special day in a coach's life.
Cornerback Owen Brown inked a deal with the Rams Friday morning.
Hicks says Brown was the co-MVP this season.
He had four interceptions two of those for touchdowns.
Brown says his visit convinced him that Albany would be home for the next four years.
"I loved the football players even though I haven't been there yet, and they run the same defense we do, so it feels like it's home for me."
Hicks says this is the third student to sign a college scholarship from Central this year.
