(ATLANTA WXIA) -- Falcons safety William Moore was granted a signature bond on Friday worth $2,500. Moore was arrested on Thursday and charged with simple battery.
According to Atlanta Police, officers responded to an argument between Moore and a woman on 9th Street in Midtown around noon.
The victim said Moore "threw her phone and grabbed her shoulder." He was arrested on the scene.
The Falcons released a statement on Thursday night:
"We are aware of the situation involving William Moore and are in the process of gathering more information. Because this is now a legal matter, the club will have no further comment at this time."
The Falcons recently re-signed Moore to a five-year, $30 million contract. The team drafted him as a second-round pick in 2009.
