MACON, Ga. (FPD Release)- The First Presbyterian Day School Athletic Department and Athletic Director Greg Moore is proud to announce the hiring of Shane Hall as the head coach for the boys cross country program, effective today, May 13, 2013.

Moore says Hall brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the sport to FPD.

"I'm excited about Shane taking over in our boys cross country program," Moore said. "He has past experience as a high school runner and brings a great understanding of how we prioritize things in our athletic department."

Hall is a familiar face at FPD, having taught at the school for the past four years.

Hall is also no stranger to the sport, having ran cross country at Northside High School. In 2001 and 2002, he was a member of the Eagle teams that won the region championship and advanced to the State Meet.

It's the challenge, though, that is most exciting to Hall.

"This is going to be a neat challenge for me," Hall said. "I'm looking forward to mentoring the guys on and off the course, especially from a spiritual standpoint in helping them grow in their faith."

Hall graduated from Liberty University in 2008 with a degree in History and a minor in Government.

He enjoys running, reading and yard work in his spare time. Hall will also be getting married this year to Christina Murphy, who teaches in Houston County.

The boys cross country team had a memorable 2012 campaign, winning the GHSA Area-1 Meet and advancing to the GHSA Class A State Meet.
