MACON, Ga.--- Rising junior and senior football players from schools all around Georgia hit the field at FPD on Saturday for Georgia Southern's Option U camp.
Head football coach, Jeff Monken, and his staff worked with around 100 players, searching for talent to field future teams. The GSU staff was also joined by coaches like Mercer's Bobby Lamb and assistants from GMC. The goal was to get the kids as much exposure as possible.
"We've got a couple other college staffs that are here working the camp with us," said Monken. "We'll share the information with them and we'll share the information on these guys just in terms of their height, weight, 40 [yard dash] time the measurable that we get with other schools that will be helpful to those kids in being exposed to a lot of different colleges."
Players divided up by position and worked with different coaches on specific skills.
This was the second camp this week for the GSU staff. They were in Atlanta on Friday.
