A Bloomfield middle school sprinter is blazing the track during the summer and heading to nationals as a reward.
Rising sixth grade student athlete Jaquavius Ellington recently returned from the Parks and Recs Georgia State track meet, placing first overall in the 100 and 200 meters. Later in the USA Track & Field qualifier he finished second overall in the 100 and 200. And while competing in Orlando running against the top runners in South Carolina, Florida and Georgia, he placed 4th overall in the both events.
Ellington is ranked Georgia's number one sprinter in the 100 and fourth in the 200. Nationals is in North Carolina, July 23rd through the 28th.
