MACON, GA - The Mercer men's basketball team is used to traveling for tournaments and road games. Now, they're preparing for a different kind of trip.
The players and coaching staff will be crossing the Atlantic for a ten day tour of Germany, Lithuania and Latvia.
The Bears will be doing community service activities and playing basketball along the way.
They will face European national teams and professional squads.
Mercer will certainly take advantage of the extra training.
"We get to start early, which is good. These early practices are something that not a lot of other teams get to do," said redshirt sophomore forward Jake Gollon.
They depart August 9.
