WARNER ROBINS - Coach Bryan Way and the Warner Robins Demons finished last years campaign 9-3, after a second round exit in the state playoffs while graduating 23 seniors. This fall, the Demons bring in 30 seniors, including returning starters in quarterback Caden Johnston, offensive lineman standout Jermaine Abron and on defense Jacob Jamerson. Together, Way feels this team has the potential for a lot of positives on the field.
"The price for success is paid in advance," says Way. "Everybody wants to win on Friday night when they come through that banner, but not everybody is willing to do what it takes to put them in a position to do that. We got a long way to go to be a good football team but as long as they keep training hard, I think we have a good opportunity to get there."
Senior lineman Jermaine Abron agrees, "This year we're trying to make it all the way. Third, fourth round is not an option. We want to make it to game 15 so that's what we want to accomplish as a unit, a team, offense and defense."
On a side note, former Houston County head coach Greg Robinson has joined the Demons staff and is helping out on the offense. The Demons scrimmage next week against Rutland at McConnell Talbert stadium and travel to Perry for their opener with cross county rival, Veterans, August 30th.
