It's football Thursday night as the Stratford Eagles begin their season this week against Westwood on the road.

Head Coach Mark Farriba is a Stratford alum and returns to Macon to coach the Eagles.

He says the guys have had to learn a new system.

But he has fifteen returning seniors and what he calls a good crop of strong juniors, so once they understand each other, Farriba thinks they will be fine.

"They are just trying to learn a new system of offense and a new system of defense. The terminology is different, and some of the words are different, and some of the techniques are different, Farriba said.

Last year the Eagles made it to the semifinals losing to Deerfield Windsor.
