MILLEDGEVILLE - In Milledgeville, GMC Prep is gearing up for a bulldog tough season under first year head coach Steven Simpson. Simpson spent the past 6 years on board as the defensive coordinator but now is the top dog. GMC returns 19 of 22 starters from last year's 4-6 team which should help erase the inexperience on Friday nights. Seven seniors will help push the Dogs to improving the program come kickoff time.
"We're going to a ball control offense", says Simpson. "We're going to try and play tough defense, shorten games and get after it and try to keep them low scoring and be in every one of them. We want to play hard. So far so good, I'm already pleased. We have some things we already see, we need to brush up. The effort has been outstanding. We're playing tough on offense and defense and battling our tails off in this hot weather and finally excited to hit someone else."
GMC defeated Olgethorpe in their scrimmage last week, but suit up for Harlem Friday night at home.
