MACON - The weekly Macon Touchdown Club meeting was in full swing Monday night honoring local high school football players for their superior play on Friday nights.

The Back of the Week is Tattnall's J.J. Battle

Battle is a Junior running back who had 22 touches for 179 yards including a 75 yard TD run in the Trojan's win over Westminster.

The lineman of the wee honors fall upon Mount de Sales linebacker Voris Bryant. The senior Cavalier, racked up 11 solo tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, 1 sack and 1 force fumble in his team's 45-7 win over Heritage.

The guest speaker for the night, Head Tennessee football coach, Butch Jones. Jones is in his first year leading the Vols after spending a stint at Cincinatti in the Big East. Jones is coming off a overtime loss with Georgia on Saturday. A contest that is being talked about as one of the games of the year to date.

He talked to the Touchdown club about his affection for the Peach state when it comes to recruiting and the impact of Saturdays experience.
