BYRON - There was no such thing as too much in pink in Byron Saturday as they held their annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
Lots of people came out in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.
The race festivities began at 7 a.m. and the crowd was ready to go as they crossed the finish line, both survivors and supporters.

Miss Teen Georgia USA, Julia Martin says "its very important for the survivors to see that there are people backing them and supporting them as we do race for this cure. And as we fight to find a fix for this horrible disease its important to support everyone thats struggling through this difficult situation."

"These walks are very important we need people in the community out more to help and support the ones that are struggling that you dont know whose life you're going to change, you don't know... you really don't know what you can do for somebody else," says breast cancer survivor Brenda Short.

13WMAZ'S own came out to support as well. Frank Malloy, Marvin James and Jeff Dudley all participated in the events  including the race itself.
