Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson underwent
surgery to repair a herniated disc in his back.
The Journal-Constitution revealed the 36-year-old had the procedure done
on Monday, and that the veteran right-hander will be ready for spring
training.
In 2011, Hudson finished 16-10 with a 3.22 earned run average in 33 starts for
Atlanta. He was held out of a start in May due to back issues.
A 13-year pro, the former sixth-round pick of Oakland back in 1997 has
compiled a 181-97 mark and 3.40 ERA in 378 games since 1999 with the Athletics
and Braves.
