New York, NY (Sports Network) - Atlanta Braves outfielder Michael Bourn has been named to the National League roster for the upcoming All-Star game by manager Tony La Russa.

Bourn is taking the spot of Washington outfielder Ian Desmond, who was named to his first All-Star team but will sit out due to a sore left oblique that has been bothering him all season.

Bourn, who played in his first All-Star game in 2010, is batting .305 with seven homers, 32 RBI, 23 stolen bases and 58 runs scored over 83 games in his seventh season in the majors.
