Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Braves placed shortstop Jack
Wilson on the 15-day disabled list prior to Sunday's 6-1 win over the New York
Mets due to a dislocated pinky finger.
Wilson injured himself in Friday's win over New York when jammed his hand into
the turf while chasing down a ball in shallow right field. He was removed from
the game and replaced at shortstop by Martin Prado.
To fill the hole created by Wilson's injury, the Braves executed a trade with
the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday and acquired Paul Janish in exchange for
pitcher Todd Redmond.
Also on Sunday, starter Ben Sheets was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett. The
four-time All-Star tossed six scoreless innings to earn his first major league
win in nearly two years. Sheets last started a big-league game on July 19,
2010.
To make room for Sheets on the roster, Atlanta optioned pitcher Randall
Delgado to the farm club.
