Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Kenny Kadji finished with 21 points and eight rebounds as the Miami-Florida Hurricanes downed the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 64-49 in an Atlantic Coast Conference bout at Philips Arena.
Malcolm Grant netted 16 points for the Hurricanes (11-7, 2-3 ACC) and Shane Larkin handed out five assists.
Mfon Udofia paced Georgia Tech (8-12, 1-5) with 14 points. Glen Rice Jr. finished with 13 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Julian Royal added 11 off the bench as the Yellow Jackets lost their fourth straight.
Miami took a 35-22 advantage into the break after it shot 53.8 percent from the floor and made 7-of-12 from beyond the arc in the opening period. Georgia Tech connected on just 30 percent of field goals in the first half.
The second half was much more competitive as the Yellow Jackets went 11-of-26 from the field after the break. Georgia Tech made it a single-digit margin on numerous occasions, but it would get no closer than eight as Miami answered each time. The Hurricanes made 12 of their 28 second half attempts to protect their lead.
Miami shot 52.9 percent from three-point range while the Yellow Jackets connected on 26.7 percent of their attempts from long range.
