The Macon Touchdown Club held their weekly Monday meeting where they awarded four athletes for their strong performances last week.
Senior running back Zach Harvey from Mary Persons High school was named Georgia Back of the Week. He rushed for 130 yards on 22 carries against Peach County.
Two players shared the Lineman of the Week award. Mount De Sales linebacker Kobe Spicer was recognized for his 19 solo tackles against Aquinas. The other Lineman of the Week was Antonio Sanders Jr. from Central High. He recorded 12 tackles, one sack, and two tackles for loss. The senior also plays running back and rushed for 92 yards with a touchdown to help the Chargers remain undefeated on the year.
Zion Blasingame from Tattnall Square Academy was named the Special Teams Player of the Week. He had a great game, returning a 95 yard kick off and a 70 yard punt for touchdowns.
The guest speaker was Mercer head coach Bobby Lamb. The Bears are coming off their first win of the season against Tennessee Tech, and are now 1-2 on the year. Mercer is on a bye week and will be on the road next weekend to take on the Virginia Military Institute.
