RIO GRANDE, P.R. --- The No. 11-ranked Georgia women's golf team still owns the team and individual leads following the second round of the Lady Puerto Rico Classic on Monday.
The Bulldogs' 3-over 291 pushed them into a one-shot lead over No. 10 LSU.
Marta Silva Zamora shot 6-under 66 her career-best effort for the third time to move into a tie with teammate Emilie Burger on the individual leaderboard. Both Bulldogs are at 4-under 140 along with Laura Gonzalez of Purdue.
Georgia's other counters on Monday were an even-par 72 from Rocio Sanchez Lobato, a 74 from Burger and Milena Savich's 79. The Bulldogs dropped an 82 from Collins Bradshaw, the same score shot by UGA's Amelia Hill, who is competing as an individual.
Overall, Sanchez Lobato is tied for 24th at 151, Savich is tied for 38th at 154, Hill is tied for 63rd at 159 and Bradshaw is tied for 76th at 163.
Silva Zamora's round represented Georgia's second straight 66. Burger carded the same score on Sunday. Those tallies tie the second-best effort in the Bulldogs' history, a shot off the 7-under 65 Vicki Goetze shot in the final round en route to winning medalist honors at the 1992 NCAA Championships.
"Those 6-unders sure do help a alot," head coach Kelley Hester said. "Marta was Marta. She started a little slow but for most of the day she was knocking it close and making her putts."
Silva Zamora, the reigning National Player of the Year, parred her first three holes before birdies at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 8 pushed her to 3-under.
She turned a 2-under after her only bogey of the day at No. 9. An eagle-3 at No. 11 moved Silva Zamora to 4-under and she birdied No. 14 and No. 17 en route to the clubhouse.
Hester was impressed by more than Silva Zamora, though.
"For Burger, everything that went well yesterday went wrong today," Hester said. "She kept it in cue, though. Her round today easily could've been a 76 or a 77 but she wouldn't let it. That's very promising. Ro hasn't been at 100 percent since she injured her wrist late in the fall. It was good to see her play well. Milena pulled a hamstring on the first hole. It was everything she could do to get it in today. She could've quit. I know it was killing her. I'm very proud of her."
Georgia is at 585 as a team. Following LSU at 586 are No. 7 Oklahoma State and Arkansas both at 590, Texas Tech at 594, Purdue at 596, No. 20 N.C.
State at 598 and Northwestern at 602.
The Bulldogs will be paired with LSU, Oklahoma State and Arkansas for Tuesday's final round, teeing off with a shotgun start at 6:30 a.m. ET.
