Bethesda, MD (Sports Network) - The third round of the AT&T National will
start at 1:00 p.m. (et) Saturday after a 6-hour delay caused by a massive
overnight storm.
The third round was scheduled to begin at 7:10 a.m. Saturday in twosomes
off the first tee, but now players will go off in threesomes off the first and
10th tees.
Leader Hunter Mahan will tee it up at 3:10 p.m. with Brendon de Jonge and
Jimmy Walker.
Tournament host Tiger Woods will now go off at 2:40 p.m.
Winds of 70-80 mph winds hit Congressional Country Club Friday night. Trees
and tents were down all over course and power has been knocked out on the
property.
The PGA Tour announced that in the interest of safety, the course was closed
to all fans and volunteers.
That means, when play begins, it will just be the players, caddies, players'
families, tournament officials, security and media on the grounds at
Congressional.
