Far Hills, NJ (Sports Network) - The United States Golf Association announced
on Tuesday that The Club at Carlton Woods, in The Woodlands, Texas, will host
the 2014 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship.
The dates for the champion will be July 21-26.
"The USGA is excited to bring the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship to The Club
at Carlton Woods, returning this championship to the state of Texas for the
first time since 2001," said USGA Vice President and Championship Committee
Chairman Thomas J. O'Toole Jr. "The Jack Nicklaus Course will be a tough
examination for the players and will help determine the best junior golfer in
the United States. In addition, the Houston area is a vibrant golf community
that will add to a great life experience for the players."
The USGA Women's State Team Championship was played on The Club at Carlton
Woods' Jack Nicklaus Course in 2007. Carlton Woods' Fazio Course hosted the
2007 USGA Men's State Team Championship.
Jordan Spieth won last year's U.S. Junior Amateur title.
The Golf Club of New England in N.H. will host this year's event.
