Palm Beach, FL (Sports Network) - European Ryder Cup stars Justin Rose and
Peter Hanson successfully seized another title from their American Ryder Cup
counterparts Dustin Johnson and Keegan Bradley, winning the 21st annual Tyco
Golf Skills Challenge on Monday at The Breakers Palm Beach.
Rose and Hanson, who earned $285,000, won the title in a sudden-death chip off
after halving two "Reverse Scramble" holes with second-place finishers Johnson
and Bradley. The American duo collected $223,000.
The team of Mark OMeara and Mark Calcavecchia finished third with $158,000,
while Zach Johnson and Kyle Stanley took fourth with $134,000.
The decisive shot was a chip from 43 feet by Hanson that rolled just inside
three feet, which bested Bradley's shot that stopped 3-feet, 6-inches from
the hole.
"The Ryder Cup? It crosses your mind, I guess," offered Rose. "Emotions are
high at the Ryder Cup, but you always have that respect. Here, you still want
to feel that adrenaline. The competitive juices always flow."
