Daytona Beach, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Canadian Women's Open has a new name and increased purse.
The LPGA Tour announced Wednesday a three-year partnership with rail carrier Canadian Pacific to become the title sponsor of the tournament.
Known as the CN Canadian Women's Open the past eight seasons under sponsorship by the Canadian National Railway Company, the tournament's purse will increase by $250,000 to $2 million, making it one of the four richest LPGA tournaments.
The Canadian Pacific Women's Open will be held at London Hunt and Country Club in London, Ontario, from Aug. 21-24.
Teenager Lydia Ko won the event the past two seasons as an amateur. Ko turned pro last month and will be a rookie next season after being granted membership by the tour.
