Central Georgia rivalry makes it to USA Today regional round

The annual showdown for Bragging Rights in the International City has made it to the second round of voting on USA Today. Northside versus Warner Robins represents the state of Georgia, as voting in the 2013 Best Rivalry in the Nation continues on the website. In the first round, the central Georgia rivalry beat out four other rivalries, including Valdosta against Lowndes. The rivalry is up against the top vote getters from six other states in the Southeast: Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama and Mississippi. If the rivalry makes it past this round, it will go against the top rivalries from other regions across the nation.

Although Northside and Warner Robins have played for 50 years, the schools have met on the football field 56 times: 50 in the regular season and 6 in the playoffs. Warner Robins holds the series record 34-22, but Northside has been 13-5 against the Demons since 1996. Warner Robins beat Northside 28-18 this year for the 50th anniversary of the series.
