One of our spunkier Athletes of the Week inked a deal to continue her softball career at the next level.
Rayna Porter is going to Kentucky State.
After she signed on the dotted line and accepted a good bit of applause the senior broke down thanking her coaches and parents for her success.
This year Porter had fifteen stolen bases in eight games.
Her coach says she was quite the utility player. Porter did stints at every position in the field.
When it came down to making a decision, Porter says it was all about playing time.
"Albany State wanted to red shirt me which means I wouldn't play my freshman year," she said. But I met with the Kentucky coach in Atlanta and he was telling me about what it would be like when I go up and play and we will travel and stuff and the team is really cool."
Rayna graduates this Saturday.
She plans to pursue elementary education at Kentucky State and eventually become a kindergarten teacher.
