After a season of uncertainty on the sideline - change is in the works at Central High school.
The Bibb County school board is expected to approve the hiring of former Baldwin head football coach Jessie Hicks as the Chargers new head man at the same position.
Hicks won seventy games during his eight years with the Braves including a twelve win season in 2008 when the Braves reached the state semi-finals.
He also guided Baldwin to back to back region champoinships in 2008 and 2009.
He left Milledgeville after the 2009 season to take the head job at Dougherty High in Albany where his teams went 3 and 17 in two years.
Hicks succeeds interim head coach Brent Thornton who went 2 and 8 in his one year on the job.
Thornton was forced to take over the Charger program after Anthony Hines stepped down less than a week before the start of the 2011 season.
