With just about a year before their first home opener, the Mercer Bears football team took the field this morning for their first organized practice in the new era.

Coach Bobby Lamb and some 80 football players made history this morning on their home turf, taking another step towards reactivating Mercer football. The freshman went through several stations full of footwork drills and some agility workouts- all in effort to improve their overall conditioning. It was an intense but short 75 minute practice to welcome these rookies to college football.

Mercer will continue to condition all this week and will hold a media day Thursday afternoon. Coach Lamb has also scheduled September 4th as their first official practice in pads.
