The Mercer Bears held their first scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday afternoon at Five Star Stadium. Entering camp there were questions as to who was going to win the quarterback battle between red shirt freshman Kaelan Riley or red shirt junior Tanner Brumby, but after the scrimmage, those questions seem real close to being answered.
Riley seemed comfortable in the offense and connected with tight end Sam Walker in the end zone twice. He also threw a touchdown pass to wide receiver Tucker Cannon.
The Bears will continue their camp as they prepare for their season opener against Jacksonville on Aug. 31 at Five Star Stadium.
