Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim signed
pitcher Ryan Madson to a one-year contract Wednesday.
The deal is worth $3.5 million in base salary with a $2.5 million roster bonus
and $1 million in incentives.
Madson signed with the Cincinnati Reds last offseason, but did not appear in a
game as he needed Tommy John surgery before the start of the season.
He pitched to a 4-2 record with a 2.37 ERA and 32 saves in 62 relief
appearances for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2011.
The 32-year-old righty has a 47-30 record with 52 saves and a 3.59 earned run
average in 491 career appearances (18 starts) over nine seasons with the
Phillies.
