Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - Jared Mitchell and Conor Gillaspie each hit
solo home runs as the Chicago White Sox recorded a 4-0 win over the Cincinnati
Reds in a Cactus League contest.
Mitchell added an RBI double as part of a 2-for-3 performance at the plate and
scored two of Chicago's four runs, while six White Sox pitchers combined on a
four-hit shutout.
Jose Quintana retired all nine Cincinnati batters he faced over the first
three innings, with Hector Santiago striking out two batters while working the
next two frames.
Bronson Arroyo drew the start for the Reds and was reached for a pair of runs
on five hits in a two-inning stint. Joey Votto doubled in two at-bats for
Cincinnati, which finished 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
