Denver, CO (Sports Network) - The Denver Nuggets have re-signed center JaVale
McGee to a multi-year contract.
"JaVale did a tremendous job for us after the trade," Denver vice president of
basketball operations Masai Ujiri said upon the announcement on Wednesday. "He
worked hard on the court and did everything our coaches asked of him. Plus,
he's only 24 years old. With our coaching staff, he's only going to get
better."
In a combined 61 games with the Wizards and Nuggets last season, McGee
averaged 11.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.16 blocks per contest. He was
acquired in a multi-team trade
The former first-round pick of Washington in 2008, McGee has posted averages
of 8.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks over 275 career appearances.
