Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Clippers announced that
Chauncey Billups will make his season debut Wednesday night against the
Minnesota Timberwolves.
The veteran guard missed the first 14 games while recovering from surgery to
repair a torn left Achilles tendon.
Billups suffered the injury on Feb. 6 in Orlando, ending his first campaign
with the Clippers after 20 games.
"We are all excited to have Chauncey back," Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro
said. "I know how hard he has worked to get to this point and we are looking
forward to incorporating him into the lineup."
Billups averaged 15.0 points, 4.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds before the injury.
A five-time NBA All-Star, Billups has averaged 15.5 points, 5.5 assists and
2.9 rebounds in a career that spans more than 1,000 games.
