Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Greg Smith led four Rams in double figures with
15 points as Colorado State cruised by the Washington Huskies, 73-55, in a
non-conference bout at the Alaska Airlines Arena.
Smith shot 7-of-15 from the floor for the Rams (4-0), while Colton Iverson
recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Dorian Green
contributed 14 points along with seven assists and Daniel Bejarano added 13
points off the bench in the triumph.
C.J. Wilcox recorded a career-high 28 points but he was the only player to
score in double-figures for Washington (2-3). Aziz N'Diaye contributed eight
points and eight rebounds.
Washington had a 30-28 lead going into the locker room thanks to a three-point
play by Desmond Simmons in the final 30 seconds of the half.
Colorado State blew Washington out in the second half, outscoring the hosts
45-25. The Rams made good on 60 percent from three-point range in the frame,
compared to a mere 33.3 percent (1-of-3) for the Huskies.
The Rams dominated on the glass, 45-21, and held the hosts to only 3-of-11
shooting from behind the three-point line.
