Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - Keifer Sykes scored a game-high 21 points,
leading five players in double figures, as the Green Bay Phoenix registered a
74-59 win over the North Dakota State Bison in non-conference play at the
Resch Center.
Sultan Muhammad knocked down 4-of-6 shots behind the three-point line as he
tallied 13 points for the Phoenix (3-3), followed by Kam Cerroni and Brennan
Cougill with 12 points apiece and Alec Brown 10 in the triumph.
North Dakota State (5-2) was paced by Marshall Bjorklund and Lawrence
Alexander who both posted 14 points, the former also tying for the team high
with seven rebounds. Kory Brown chipped in 10 points.
NDSU fell behind immediately and was never able to recover, shooting just 9-
of-27 from the floor and 5-of-10 at the free-throw line in the first half on
the way to a 32-23 deficit at the break. The Bison also missed all six
attempts behind the three-point line.
In the second half Green Bay kept pouring it on by converting 54.2 percent
from the field, including 6-of-9 beyond the arc, as the hosts cruised to the
15-point win.
The visitors knocked down only 3-of-16 on the perimeter and 12-of-21 at the
charity stripe on the night.
