Clemson, SC (Sports Network) - Okaro White scored a team-high 15 points as the
Florida State Seminoles defeated the Clemson Tigers, 71-66, in both team's
Atlantic Coast Conference opener, at Littlejohn Coliseum.
White recorded seven rebounds and was 3-of-6 from long range for the Seminoles
(9-5, 1-0 ACC). Terrance Shannon and Terry Whisnant scored 11 points a
piece as Florida State has won five of its last six games.
For the Tigers (8-5, 0-1), Devin Booker recorded a double-double with a game-
high 19 points and 11 rebounds. K.J. McDaniels and Milton Jennings scored 15
and 10 points. Jordan Roper chipped-in 11 points off the bench as the Tigers
had their two-game win streak snapped.
Florida State started out the game on a 24-8 run, shooting 6-of-13 from long
range while limiting Clemson to a mere 1-of-7 from 3-point range, en route
to a 38-25 lead at the break.
Clemson shot better in the second making 5-of-13 from long range, but the
Seminoles would continue their solid shooting leading to a five-point victory.
Florida State was 10-of-23 from long range while limiting the home team to a
mere 6-of-20 from behind the arc.
