Monroe, LA (Sports Network) - Marcos Knight scored 17 points and cleared nine
rebounds as he helped lead the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders to a 66-57 win
over the ULM Warhawks in Sun Belt Conference play at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.
Knight, who converted 7-of-13 shots from the floor, added five assists and
three steals for the Blue Raiders (14-4, 6-1 Sun Belt) as they won their third
straight games and the seventh in the last eight outings. Bruce Massey chipped
in 12 points and JT Sulton eight, to go along with a game-high 10 boards.
The Warhawks (3-10, 2-5) were paced by Amos Olatayo who accounted for a game-
high 24 points, followed by Jayon James and R.J. McCray with 10 points apiece.
ULM came out very slow in the first half, fell behind immediately, and shot
just 25.9 percent from the floor, en route to a 34-19 deficit at the break.
The Warhawks also converted just 1-of-5 beyond the arc and 4-of-10 at the
free-throw line through the first 20 minutes of action.
In the second half the hosts responded with 56.5 percent accuracy from the
field, but by then it was already too late, as the Blue Raiders captured the
win.
Middle Tennessee survived despite turning the ball over 18 times.
