Waco, TX (Sports Network) - Cory Jefferson scored 15 points and pulled down
five rebounds to help give the Baylor Bears a 51-40 win over the TCU Horned
Frogs in Big 12 Conference play at the Ferrell Center.
Also scoring in double figures for the Bears (11-4, 3-0 Big 12) were Pierre
Jackson and Isaiah Austin with 11 and 10 points, respectively, as the team won
for the sixth time in the last seven outings.
The Horned Frogs (9-7, 0-3), losers of three in a row, were led by Charles
Hill Jr. with 12 points and eight boards, followed by Devonta Abron with 10
points and seven rebounds in the setback.
Both teams had trouble shooting the ball from the field in the first half,
with Baylor hitting on just 31.0 percent and the visitors 35.0 percent, just
enough of an advantage to score the Frogs a slim 22-21 advantage at the break.
In the second half TCU again struggled (.320) from the field, but the Bears
turned it around with 52.0 percent accuracy in order to secure the 11-point
victory.
In addition to shooting only 6-of-14 at the free-throw line in the contest,
TCU also turned the ball over 14 times.
