Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Chris Crawford scored 13 points to lead four
players in double figures as the Memphis Tigers topped the Harvard Crimson,
60-50, in a non-conference affair at FedExForum.
Shaq Goodwin had 11 points and eight rebounds while D.J. Stephens and Joe
Jackson each added 10 points for Memphis (14-3) which has won eight straight.
Wesley Saunders netted a teamh-high 11 points but also turned the ball over
eight times for Harvard (9-6). Steve Missi-Moundou added 10 points off
the bench. The Crimson had won five of its previous six.
Memphis was dominant on defense in the first half and led 32-16 at the break.
The Tigers held Harvard to just 26.3 percent shooting and five total field
goals in the first 20 minutes.
The Crimson battled back in the second half and tied the contest at 48-48 with
5:58 remaining. However the Tigers would end the game on a 12-2 run to secure
the win.
The Tigers hounded the Crimson all night and collected 18 turnovers, which
turned into 14 points, while blocking eight shots.
