Missoula, MT (Sports Network) - Mathias Ward went 7-of-7 from the foul line
and netted 21 points to lead the Montana Grizzlies to a 70-51 home win over
the Idaho State Bengals in a Big Sky showdown at Dahlberg Arena.
Spencer Coleman added 20 points off the bench on 8-of-9 shooting from the
field and Kareem Jamar filled the stat sheet with 11 points, seven rebounds
and seven assists as Montana (13-4, 9-0 Big Sky) came out of its ninth
straight contest victorious.
Neveij Walters led Idaho State (4-14, 3-6) with 12 points while Melvin Morgan
scored 10 points to go along with a team-high four assists.
Idaho State came out as the aggressors and led 31-29 at halftime after
shooting 57.1 percent from both the floor and 3-point range.
The home team composed themselves in the locker rooms and controlled the
second half, limiting the Bengals to 20 second half points on 21.7 percent
shooting. The Grizzlies hit 14-of-24 shots and 10-of-13 from the free throw
stripe in the rout.
Montana outrebounded ISU, 31-20, and its reserves outscored the Bengals'
bench, 27-10.
