Neighbour, the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans were able to squeak by the Florida
Atlantic Owls, 65-62, in a Sun Belt Conference showdown at the Jack Stephens
Center.
Neighbour made it a double-double with 11 rebounds for UALR (13-9, 7-4 Sun
Belt), which has won four of five. Kemy Osse chipped in 12 points and seven
boards from off the bench.
Stefan Moody also scored a career-high with 24 points for FAU (10-11, 5-5),
while Greg Gantt added 13 points. The Owls had been winners of four of their
previous five games.
FAU dominated the first half, outshooting UALR from the field, 56 percent to
28 percent, to take a 35-19 lead into intermission.
The Trojans gradually chipped away at the their deficit in the second half
until they tied the game at 60-60 on a Josh Hagins jumper with just under two
minutes to play. Following a pair of UALR free throws and an FAU bucket, Osse
connected on the game-winning layup for the Trojans with 35 seconds left. FAU
had a missed field goal and two turnovers down the stretch.
UALR had an impressive 24-of-31 showing from the foul line, while FAU shot
just 9-of-19 from the charity stripe.
