Brookings, SD (Sports Network) - Jordan Dykstra recorded a double-double with
18 points and 14 rebounds as the South Dakota State Jackrabbits defeated the
South Dakota Coyotes, 67-54, in Summit League play at Frost Arena.
Nate Wolters scored a game-high 19 points along with seven boards in the
Jackrabbits (17-6, 8-2 Summit) victory. Tony Fiegen and Chad White scored 11
points a piece as South Dakota State won a sixth consecutive game.
For the Coyotes (8-14, 4-6), Casey Kasperbauer recorded 15 points but was the
only player in double-figures as South Dakota lost a second game in a row.
South Dakota State made 42.9 percent from the floor including 7-of-13 from
long-range, en route to a 36-27 advantage at the break. South Dakota was held
to a mere 2-of-5 from long range in the period.
Both teams collected11 field goals from the floor in the second half while
South Dakota State made 7-of-8 free-throws to seal the 13-point victory.
South Dakota State forced 17 turnovers and outscored the Coyotes, 15-7, in
points off those turnovers.
