Charleston, SC (Sports Network) - Jake Cohen scored a career-best 32 points to
go along with four blocks to lead the Davidson Wildcats to a 75-59 decision
over the College of Charleston Cougars in a Southern Conference clash at TD
Arena.
Nik Cochran tallied 14 points and dished out five assists for Davidson (18-7,
13-1 SoCon), which has now won nine straight games.
Andrew Lawrence and Trent Wiedeman paced Charleston (18-8, 10-4) with 10
points apiece.
Cohen sparked a 10-0 Davidson run to open the game with seven points on 3-of-3
from the field. Charleston cut into the deficit and trailed 32-30 at
intermission, with 20 of its 30 points coming in the paint.
After Anthony Stitt drilled his only 3-pointer of the game with 12:33 left to
play to keep Charleston within two at 47-45, Davidson took control of the
contest with a 15-2 run. The Wildcats hit 59.3 percent of their field goal
attempts in the second half.
Charleston shot just 4-of-10 from the foul line, while Davidson hit 11-of-13
from the stripe.
