Hanover, NH (Sports Network) - Henry Brooks scored 14 points to lead the
Penn Quakers over the Dartmouth Big Green, 67-57, in an Ivy League matchup at
Leede Arena.
Brooks shot 7-of-9 from the field with two blocks and two steals for the
Quakers (6-18, 3-4 Ivy), who earned their second win in the last three games.
Jamal Lewis also scored 14 points while Miles Cartwright scored 13 to go along
with six assists and five rebounds.
Dartmouth (6-16, 2-6) was led by a double-double performance from Gabas
Maldunas who had 19 points and 10 rebounds, adding three blocked shots. Alex
Mitola added 13 points and Connor Boehm had 11 points with seven rebounds as
the Big Green suffered its third consecutive loss.
Dartmouth carried a 30-18 lead into the break after Penn shot just 35.0
percent from the field and went 0-of-5 from 3-point range in the first half.
In the second half the Quakers came back strong, shooting an outstanding 76.2
percent from the field and hitting 15-of-19 at the free-throw line, Penn
outscored the Big Green 49-27 for the comeback win.
The Quakers' bench supplied 25 points in the game while Dartmouth's
contributed just two. The Big Green shot only 35.6 percent from the field in
the game while after a big second half Penn shot at 56.1 percent for the
night.
