San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Michael Hale III scored a game-high 26
points as the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners posted a 74-56 win over the Idaho
Vandals in Western Athletic Conference play at the Convocation Center.
Also scoring in double figures for the Roadrunners (8-19, 3-12 WAC), as they
won their third straight outing, were Kannon Burrage and Jeromie Hill with 16
and 12 points, respectively.
The Vandals (10-17, 5-11) were led by Kyle Barone who logged a double-double
with 13 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, but still the team suffered a
fifth setback in the last six outings. Mike McChristian converted 5-of-8
behind the 3-point line as he finished with 19 points, followed by Connor Hill
with 10.
Both teams shot the ball well from the field in the first half, converting at
least 50 percent of their attempts, but Idaho also made good on an impressive
7-of-14 beyond the arc in the period in order to claim a narrow 40-38
advantage at the break.
In the second half the Vandals went cold from the floor, making a total of
just six baskets, as UTSA pulled away for the 18-point home win.
The Roadrunners, who shot 16-of-27 (.593) from the field after intermission,
turned the ball over just six times on the night as they picked up only their
third home win of the campaign.
