Bowling Green, KY (Sports Network) - T.J. Price scored a team-best 22 points
as the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers claimed a 79-73 win over the South Alabama
Jaguars in Sun Belt Conference action at E.A. Diddle Arena.
Also scoring in double figures for the Hilltoppers (16-10, 10-9 Sun Belt) were
George Fant with 13 points, Brandon Harris 12 and Aleksejs Rostov with 10
points before fouling out in the team's third straight victory.
The Jaguars (16-11, 13-6) were paced by Augustine Rubit with 23 points, nine
rebounds, four assists and three steals, but still the team bowed for the
second time in three outings. Javier Carter logged a double-double with 14
points and a game-high 10 rebounds, not to mention six blocked shots, followed
by Dre Conner and Antoine Allen with 12 points apiece.
USA led by four points early in the first half, but the team ended up shooting
just 32.0 percent from the floor, en route to a 39-30 deficit at the break.
In the second half WKU made good on 57.1 percent from the floor in order to
secure the six-point home win.
The Jags were forced into 15 turnovers, which were traded in for 30 points by
Western Kentucky.
