Cedar City, UT (Sports Network) - Antonio Biglow's layup with a little more
than a minute remaining was the difference as Montana State earned a 62-61
victory over Southern Utah in Big Sky Conference action at Centrum Arena.
Christian Moon scored 17 points, Paul Egwuonwu had 14 points and 13 rebounds,
Xavier Blount added 13 points and Biglow had 10 points to go with seven
assists for Montana State (11-15, 8-9 Big Sky) which put an end to a five-game
losing streak.
Jackson Stevenett scored 19 points and Jayson Cheesman added 11 for Southern
Utah (11-16, 89) which has lost four of its last five games.
Southern Utah held Montana State to just 26.5 percent shooting in the first
half and connected on 41.7 percent from the field itself to take a 32-27 lead
into the break.
The Bobcats improved to 46.7 percent shooting after intermission but was
unable to take a lead until Biglow sank a layup with 1:11 left on the clock.
The Thunderbirds had two costly turnovers in the final minute to give up the
decision.
Montana State was the dominant team inside with a 41-31 edge in rebounds and
a 36-22 advantage on points in the paint.
