Flagstaff, AZ (Sports Network) - Gabe Rogers scored a game-high 24 points as
the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks captured a 67-58 win over the Idaho State
Bengals in Big Sky Conference action at the Walkup Skydome.
DeWayne Russell added 13 points and Stallon Saldivar 12 and six assists off
the bench for the Lumberjacks (11-17, 8-9 Big Sky) as they won for the second
time in the last three outings.
Melvin Morgan led the Bengals (5-22, 4-13) with 17 points, Andre Hatchett
accounted for 12 and seven boards and Thomas Sanchez 10 points, shooting 8-
of-10 at the free-throw line but only 1-of-6 from the field as the team bowed
for the 10th time in 11 tries.
ISU shot just 2-of-8 behind the 3-point line and turned the ball over nine
times in the first half, yet the Bengals led by a 38-35 score at the break
thanks to a 10-1 scoring edge at the free-throw line.
In the second half the visitors completely fell apart, making a grand total of
just three field goals on 19 attempts, en route to the nine-point setback.
NAU forced 17 turnovers on the night and held the Bengals to just 16 made
field goals.
