San Luis Obispo, CA (Sports Network) - Chris Eversley and Chris O'Brien both
scored 14 points for the Cal Poly Mustangs as they registered a 62-60 win over
the Cal State Fullerton Titans in Big West Conference play at Mott Gym.
Cal Poly (16-12, 11-6 Big West) closed out the regular season with five
straight wins and eight in the last nine outings and as a result have locked
up the third seed for the upcoming Big West Conference Tournament which gets
underway on Thursday.
Leading the way for the Titans (14-16, 6-11), who are the eighth and final
seed for the tournament, were Kwame Vaughn and Alex Harris with 22 points
apiece.
Fullerton led by a basket at the break, 35-33, as Vaughn tallied 17 points and
Harris 12 for the visitors.
In the second half O'Brien responded for the hosts with 12 points which was
enough for Cal Poly to slip by for the win.
