Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne
Bowe signed his franchise tender on Friday.
Bowe, 27, had been holding out of training camp while seeking a long-term deal
since being designated as Kansas City's franchise player in March.
The 23rd overall pick in the 2007 draft, Bowe has spent his entire five-year
career with the Chiefs.
He appeared in all 16 games last season, starting 14, and had 81 receptions
for 1,159 yards and five touchdowns.
Through 75 games -- 70 starts -- for the Chiefs, Bowe has caught 356 passes
for 4,927 yards and 36 scores. His best season came in 2010 when he caught 72
balls for a career-high 1,162 yards and 15 touchdowns, earning his lone Pro
Bowl appearance.
He will earn about $9.4 million this season under the tender.
The Chiefs also announced offensive tackle Ray Willis' retirement on Friday.
Willis played in 44 career games over five seasons with the Seattle Seahawks,
Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints and New York Jets. He signed with the
Chiefs as a free agent on July 31.
