Southwest Looking to Build on Last Year's Playoff Run

Southwest hungry to go deeper in playoffs

High school football is just around the corner, and today we are checking out the action from the Southwest Patriots.

The pats are coming off a great season where they went 5-1 in Region play and made it to the playoffs for the first time since 2010. The players and their head coach Joe Dupree are hungry for more, and want to make a deeper run in the playoffs this time around.

"We trying to improve on it just by getting better one game at a time. We definitely want to win the region this year, and get to the playoffs, but not just get to the playoffs we want to win a playoff game. Our expectations are high this year, we are not the hunters anymore, we are the hunted so everybody is looking to beat us and everything and we are just excited for the opportunity to compete," Dupree said.

The patriots open the season against WEstside on August 25th.
