Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - American Sam Querrey and Leonardo Mayer,
of Argentina, were second-round winners in the Farmers Classic on Wednesday.
Querrey, seeded second, made quick work of Dutchman Igor Sijsling with a 6-2,
6-2 victory. The California native won back-to-back Farmers Classic titles in
2009 and 2010.
The third seeded Mayer won his first set 6-0 and was up 4-0 in the second set
when Flavio Cipolla retired. Mayer had five aces and did not face a break
point before the Italian Cipolla bowed out.
Also on Wednesday, American Rajeev Ram cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 victory over
Chilean Paul Capdeville. Ram won four of nine break points and also had 10
aces in the win.
Ernests Gulbis of Latvia defeated American Mardy Fish in last year's Farmers
