Chennai, India (Sports Network) - Serbian Janko Tipsarevic rallied from a set
down to beat Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut for the title at the season-opening
Chennai Open.
The second-seeded Tipsarevic earned his fourth career title with a 3-6, 6-1,
6-3 triumph on Sunday.
Tipsarevic appeared in the Chennai final for the second straight year and was
determined to not let history repeat itself. He lost to Canadian Milos Raonic
6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-4) in a match that lasted three hours, 14
minutes. Based on time, it was the longest three-set final on the ATP World
Tour last year.
The 80th-ranked Bautista Agut was a first-time ATP World Tour finalist. Last
year, players trying to capture their maiden title were 1-15 in finals.
